Tiny Design School Preview @sp ce | Muthesius
with Prof.in Annika Frye
Everyone is talking about generative AI, from the Pope in Balenciaga to generated texts. But what does generative AI really do in everyday life? How can we familiarize ourselves with it? And how can we learn to deal critically with AI-generated images? Is it possible to recognize from the images which original patterns they follow? Isn't generative AI rather a new form of collaging? And what prompts, i.e. inputs, are required to create a successful result? Who is the author in the end?
In the workshop, we will create our own wallpapers using generative AI and cut them out with the Cricut, a cutting plotter. Digital wallpapers are also possible. Different styles will be explored and there will be a short excursion into the design history of wallpaper. We will learn how to create prompts and patterns that can be transferred to a material.
The Tiny Design School will be an art school on wheels that travels through Schleswig-Holstein and teaches design. Our target group is school students, people with an interest in design and creation and people who might want to study or work at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts and Design. As a sub-project of the Digital Learning Campus, we want to experiment with new educational formats in the DLCAL.
Bring your own Device - We will have devices on site, but only a limited number and encourage you to explore your own devices and their AI capabilities. Any phone can already work with tools like Stable Diffusion. Registration at: frye@muthesius.de
