Kalle Spielvogel - Animadversio

In Animadversio, you step onto the jetty of Kleiner Kiel, which extends into the water. The installation aims to acoustically expand this special place and encourage people to approach it with new attention. By adapting the sounds, a new, harmonious soundscape is created that subtly changes the existing atmosphere. The created soundscape invites you to experience the place anew and to become aware that the acoustic manipulation opens up a new view of the surroundings.

This acoustic intervention is not intended to dominate, but rather to subtly enrich. By consciously engaging with the acoustics and the existing location, we can realize that the acoustic image we have created in our heads only partially corresponds to reality. Here it is left to the viewer to decide whether they want to engage with these artificially generated sounds and their discrepancies or simply perceive them as relaxing background noises.

Kalle Spielvogel (*1985) completed his Master of Fine Arts at the Muthesius Art Academy in Kiel. His artistic focus is on light and sound installation. Thematically, he is primarily concerned with sensitizing our perception. How do people perceive things and living beings acoustically, visually and tactically-haptically? Nature is also a recurring element in his work. The starting point is often material research and experiments. This results in mixed media works, spatial installations or sculptural works.
