In Deep.dance, the boundaries between man and machine become blurred when three dancers interpret a choreography created by artificial intelligence. The precise, interlocking movements give the audience a fascinating insight into the hyper-logical world of code. What does it mean when human creativity is replaced by machines? Hamburg choreographer Jascha Viehstädt creates a calm atmosphere in which predetermined movements confront the audience with a world that is only accessible to a few people, but will nevertheless have a significant influence on our future lives. The simplicity of the piece makes the basic mechanisms of machine learning tangible and explores the ambivalence of artificial intelligence.

tanz.nord has been creating a structure for regional exchange and cooperation between the independent dance scenes in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein since 2021. Annually recurring formats aim to strengthen networking between the two federal states in the long term. In doing so, tanz.nord opens up new venues outside urban centers. The tanz.nord guest performances initiate a sustainable and regional touring network and the new tanz.nord productions strengthen the network and create access for audiences unfamiliar with dance. Working and networking meetings such as the tanz.nord lab offer dance professionals a space for exchange and through school partnerships tanz.nord is committed to developing audiences outside the city.
